Fazilka’s Top Girl Students Embark on Promising Journeys

Fazilka : A day full of inspiration and aspiration unfolded for six meritorious girl students from Fazilka district who secured ranks in Merit List of the Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
Under the Punjab Government’s unique initiative “A Day with the DC & SSP”, these students spent an entire day with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, IAS, gaining insights into administrative functioning and leadership, thus giving wings to their dreams.
The day began at the official residence of the Deputy Commissioner, where the students were welcomed and introduced to the working of the camp office.
Later, they accompanied DC Sandhu to the District Administrative Complex, where they toured various departments and were educated on the functioning and structure of government offices.
As part of the day’s activities, the students joined the DC on a field visit to Bhagsar and Kular villages, participating as special guests in events related to the Drug De-addiction Awareness Yatra.
They were joined by MLA Mr. Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir, who interacted warmly with the young achievers. For Priya, a student from Kular village, it was an especially proud moment to be honored in her own village alongside top officials.
During lunch, the students had an opportunity to engage with the DC, MLA, and other senior officials in informal discussions, sharing their goals and asking questions about their journeys to success.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Subhash Chander also interacted with the students, enlightening them about the functioning of the Rural Development Department and motivating them with practical life lessons.
To commemorate the day, DC Sandhu presented the students with books and tabs, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with dedication.
In her address, she emphasized, “The objective of this program is to guide and inspire meritorious students to achieve their dreams. If one sets clear goals and works hard, no dream is out of reach.”
The event was particularly transformative for Shantosh Rani, a Class 10 topper from Shergarh village with 98.62% marks who had earlier aspired to become a software engineer.
After her interaction with the DC, she resolved to appear for the UPSC examination and enter the civil services.
Similarly, Harmandeep Kaur from Kular village, a Class 12 state-level ranker from Singh Sabha Girls School, shared that her dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) had found new momentum after experiencing the world of administration firsthand.
Bright Daughters of Fazilka – Dreaming Big:
Priya, a Class 12 student from School of Eminence, Ramsara, ranked 6th in the state merit list and aspires to become a software engineer.
Anudeep, a Class 12 student from Government Senior Secondary School, Paliwala, secured the 12th rank and dreams of becoming an IAS officer.
Muskan, from Government High School, Shergarh, ranked 9th in Class 10 and aims to become a doctor.
Jagrati, a Class 10 student from Genius International School, Abohar, stood 11th in the state and aspires to be an officer in the Indian Armed Force
Present on this occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur, ADC (Development) Mr. Subhash Chander, Assistant Commissioner (General) Mr. Amandeep Singh Mavi, District Education Officer Mr. Ajay Sharma, and Mr. Satish Kumar, who all commended the students on their achievements and encouraged them to strive higher.
