IPS Officer Sanjeev Gandhi Rejoins as Senior Superintendent of Police, Shimla

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) : After a 29-day hiatus, IPS officer Sanjeev Gandhi resumed his duties on Tuesday as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Shimla.

He had been sent on leave on May 27 by the state government citing disciplinary grounds.

Gandhi, who had openly questioned the functioning of former DGP Dr. Atul Verma during a press conference, was sidelined shortly after the Himachal Pradesh High Court ordered a CBI probe into the Vimal case

In that press briefing, Gandhi had raised serious concerns about the conduct of several senior officers, including the then Director General of Police.

Following these remarks, both Gandhi and then DGP Atul Verma were issued show-cause notices for alleged indiscipline and internal conflict. Subsequently, the government temporarily handed over the charge of SSP Shimla to Solan SP Gaurav Singh.
