Mohali Court Acquits Gangsters in Threat Case Against Gippy Grewal

The Mohali court acquitted gangsters Dilpreet Baba and Sukhpreet Budha in a case involving threats against Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal, citing insufficient evidence. The case dates back to 2018 when Dilpreet allegedly threatened Gippy, comparing his potential fate to that of Amar Singh Chamkila and Parmish Verma. Following a failed extortion attempt, Dilpreet had also shot at Parmish Verma, seriously injuring him. Despite Gippy Grewal’s complaint and a case registered by Mohali Police under Sections 387 and 506 of the IPC, the court found the evidence, including voice recordings and chat transcripts, inadequate to convict the accused, leading to their acquittal.
