Hisar Bribery Case: Yashpal Sharma’s Brother Caught Accepting Rs 3,000, Says ACB

The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Rajesh Kumar, the brother of Bollywood actor and filmmaker Yashpal Sharma, after allegedly catching him accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 during a trap operation in Hisar.
Rajesh Kumar is employed as a Jiledar in the Water Services Division in Hisar. According to the ACB, he was accused of demanding Rs 3,000 in exchange for preparing a COO (water allocation schedule) related to canal irrigation arrangements for a colony being developed on agricultural land near the Rajgarh-Chandigarh highway.
Officials said the complaint was first verified by the bureau before further action was initiated. Following verification, the ACB team in Hisar conducted a trap operation in the presence of independent witnesses.
During the operation, Rajesh Kumar was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount, the bureau said.
Following the arrest, an FIR has been registered against the accused under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and a formal investigation has been launched.
The case has attracted local attention because of Rajesh Kumar’s relationship with actor Yashpal Sharma, who is known for his work in Hindi cinema and was also the producer of the film “Dada Lakhmi.”
Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the ongoing investigation. The Anti-Corruption Bureau said legal proceedings in the case will continue in accordance with the provisions of the law.
