India's record in the Asian Champions Trophy highlights a legacy of resilience and dominance. The team secured their maiden title at the 2011 edition in Ordos, China, where they edged past Pakistan 4-2 in a tense penalty shootout after regular time ended in a stalemate. The second title followed in 2016 in Kuantan, Malaysia, courtesy of a hard-fought 2016 victory over Pakistan featuring goals from Rupinder Pal Singh, Affan Yousuf, and Nikkin The imithea. In 2018, held in Muscat, Oman, heavy rains forced the cancellation of the final clash, leading to India and Pakistan being declared joint winners. In recent years, India has further cemented its supremacy. At the 2023 tournament in Chennai, the team staged a remarkable comeback in the final against Malaysia, overturning a 3-1 deficit in the final 16 minutes through strikes from Harmanpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh, and Akashdeep Singh to win 4-3 and become the tournament's most successful team. They followed this up with a fifth title in 2024 in Hulunbuir, China, defeating the hosts 1-0 in the title clash courtesy of a decisive goal by Jugraj Singh.
