Democratic Lawmakers Urge Probe Into Civilian Deaths After Iran School Strike

U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock has strongly condemned the deadly attack on a school in Iran that occurred on February 28, in which more than 170 schoolchildren were killed. The Democratic senator from the state of Georgia, who is also a pastor, expressed deep concern over the tragedy in a message shared on social media. He said the incident had deeply shaken many people and stressed that the deaths of children cannot be ignored under any circumstances. Warnock stated that a nation that easily overlooks the deaths of children is morally broken. He emphasized that Iranian children are also children of God and that the world must not forget their loss. The senator has called for a thorough investigation and accountability within the United States regarding the incident. Warnock is among more than 40 Democratic lawmakers who have written a letter to the United States Department of Defense urging the administration of Donald Trump to investigate civilian casualties in Iran, particularly those related to the school attack. In his statement, the senator questioned whether the United States had taken action in response to the incident. “Has the United States taken action?” he asked, adding that if no action had been taken, an explanation must be provided. He also called for a swift investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.
