Authorities carried out a major crackdown against alleged drug traffickers in village Haryau under Lehragaga as part of the state’s ongoing anti-drug campaign. Civil administration and police jointly demolished illegal constructions linked to accused individuals using bulldozers. Following due action, the encroached property was taken into possession and handed over to the village panchayat. Officials said that the “War Against Drugs” campaign is being continuously implemented across Sangrur district. Committees have been formed in villages and towns to spread awareness, and immediate action is taken upon receiving information about drug traffickers. The operation was conducted under the directions of Sartaj Singh Chahal and as part of the Punjab Government’s intensified drive against drug trafficking. During the operation, officials carried out demarcation in the presence of the village panchayat, including the sarpanch and staff.
