Advocate Dhami Seeks Strict Action Over Alleged Desecration of Gurbani Gutka Sahib

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the alleged desecration of a sacred Gurbani Gutka Sahib reported from the Raja Garden area of Jalandhar. Reacting to the incident, Advocate Dhami described it as deeply unfortunate and expressed concern over the increasing number of sacrilege cases involving holy Gurbani in recent times. He said the repeated occurrence of such incidents reflects the failure of authorities to take strict and serious action against those responsible. The SGPC president stated that Gurbani guides humanity towards righteous living and promotes the message of universal brotherhood and harmony. He added that such acts of desecration not only hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community but also pose a serious threat to communal harmony in the state. Advocate Dhami further said it is the responsibility of the administration not only to arrest the accused involved in the incident but also to expose the forces working behind such acts. He urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure strict action against those responsible. Appealing to the Sikh community, he also requested devotees to pay special attention to maintaining the dignity and proper care of Gutka Sahib and other sacred scriptures kept in their homes, in accordance with religious maryada.
