Punjab Revises Bakrid Holiday Date; Offices and Educational Institutions to Remain Closed

The Punjab Government has announced another public holiday in the state on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid). According to the latest notification, all government offices, schools, and colleges across Punjab will remain closed on May 28. The state government has revised the date of the Eid holiday. Earlier, the holiday had been declared for May 27, but it has now been shifted to May 28 following amendments made by the Government of India. Officials stated that the decision was taken after receiving updated directions from the Centre regarding the observance of Eid-ul-Adha. As a result, the Punjab Government issued a fresh notification confirming the revised holiday date. Punjab Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha has reportedly sent official communication to authorities in all districts informing them about the change. The revised order will now be applicable across the state, and all government institutions, including educational establishments, will remain closed on Thursday, May 28.
