AAP’s Deepak Bali Accuses BJP of Trying to Destabilize Punjab

Chandigarh :Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary Deepak Bali launched a sharp attack on BJP leader Tarun Chugh, accusing him of making misleading statements about Punjab’s Land Pooling Policy and attempting to incite unrest.

Reacting to Chugh’s remarks that labeled the policy as a "conspiracy to grab farmers’ land," Bali said, “It’s shocking that someone with little understanding of Punjab’s ground realities would make such irresponsible comments. If Tarun Chugh doesn’t have the facts, he should remain silent.”

Bali defended the Land Pooling Policy as a farmer-centric, transparent, and voluntary scheme. He said it was designed to end exploitation by land mafias, many of whom, he alleged, were previously linked to the BJP. “This policy transforms farmers into stakeholders in development, ensuring they receive higher returns and a share in the profits,” he added.

He explained that under the policy, the government develops essential infrastructure—roads, power, water, and sewage—and returns a portion of the developed land to farmers, often more valuable than the original.

Bali accused the BJP of spreading misinformation to stall development and create friction between the Punjab government and farmers. “Their only agenda is to create confusion and tension. But the people of Punjab won’t be misled,” he asserted.
