In the wake of the high-profile murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, the local administration has launched a major crackdown, initiating bulldozer action against the key accused. According to reports, authorities have started using a bulldozer and JCB equipment to demolish the residential property belonging to the main accused and medical store owner, Ashwani Kumar. A heavy deployment of police force has been stationed at the site to maintain law and order and handle any potential security concerns. Prior to this development, law enforcement agencies achieved a major breakthrough late Tuesday night when the primary suspect was reportedly nabbed from Rajasthan. Although Mansa police have yet to officially confirm the arrest details, medical store owner Ashwani Kumar—accused of shooting dead Parvinder Singh Jhota—was taken into police custody. The tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday in Mansa, where Jhota was shot dead following a heated altercation regarding the alleged sale of drugs at a local chemist's shop. The fatal shooting has sent shockwaves through the region, intensifying local tension. Meanwhile, an indefinite protest demonstration led by local residents and supporters continues in Mansa as they demand swift and strict justice for the slain activist. To streamline the ongoing agitation and effectively communicate their demands to the administration, the protesters have formed a special committee that is actively engaged in negotiations with administrative officials.
