01 Oct, 2026 12:28 PM

Two people were killed and several others injured after an out-of-control pickup truck struck people during an annual fair being held near Tsawwassen Mills in Delta, Canada.
The incident took place during an annual gathering organised by Indigenous people living in Canada. Two people died at the scene, while two others suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital. Several additional injured people received first aid at the site.
Driver May Have Suffered Medical Emergency                                                                                          Delta Police said there were indications that the driver may have experienced a medical emergency at the time of the crash. Police said the vehicle may have gone out of control after the driver became dizzy.
Authorities also said the incident does not appear to have been connected to the Indigenous people's march taking place at the event.
However, people present at the scene said many of those injured were wearing orange T-shirts, indicating that they may have been participating in the march.
The crash site was located only a short distance from the Delta ferry terminal and Delta port.
Truck Linked to Cleaning Company
The pickup truck involved in the incident was reportedly associated with Alpine Services, a company involved in cleaning operations at the mall.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated by Delta Police.
Prime Minister Mark Carney Expresses Condolences
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his condolences following the incident and assured that every possible assistance would be provided.
The incident has caused concern among the community as authorities continue to investigate what led the pickup truck to lose control and strike people gathered for the annual event.
