Jalore Highway Crash Leaves 2 Dead, 10 Injured; Three Drivers Held for Questioning

Two people, including a bus conductor and a government schoolteacher, were killed and 10 others injured after a speeding private bus collided with a truck on a national highway in Rajasthan’s Jalore district on Sunday, police said.
The accident took place on the Sanchore-Deesa National Highway near the Paladar border area.
Following the collision, police reached the spot and restored traffic after removing the damaged vehicles from the highway.
Station House Officer Nainaram Chaudhary said the passenger bus was travelling from Bedia in Barmer district to Palanpur in Gujarat. The bus had picked up passengers from Sanchore before the accident.
According to the SHO, the collision was severe and caused extensive damage to the front portions of both the bus and the truck.
Police said two of the injured persons later died during treatment. They were identified as Hanjaram Meghwal, 53, a resident of Sanchore, and bus conductor Maru Khana, 38, from Barmer.
Of the 10 injured, four are reported to be in serious condition, while the remaining victims suffered minor injuries. All the injured are undergoing treatment at government and private hospitals in Sanchore.
Police have detained the truck driver, the truck helper and the bus driver for questioning, officials said.
The damaged vehicles were subsequently removed from the road, allowing traffic movement to resume.
