Chitkara University Row: Two Held for Allegedly Circulating Misleading Messages

Patiala Police have arrested two people in connection with the recent student unrest at Chitkara University in Rajpura, accusing them of allegedly provoking students through social media and circulating misleading messages.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrested individuals have been identified as Himanshu, a resident of Nangal, and Aryan, a resident of Ambala.
Following the incident, an FIR was registered at Banur police station and an investigation was launched. Police said investigators examined the social media activities of students and others, along with messages allegedly circulated online in connection with the incident.
According to the police investigation, the two arrested accused allegedly used misleading messages to provoke students, which police said contributed to the deterioration of the situation on the campus.
10 Others Named in FIR
Police said 10 other people have also been named in the FIR. Teams have been dispatched to different locations to trace and arrest those individuals.
Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Harmandeep Hans said the Patiala Police were committed to maintaining peace and law and order. He added that the police were examining social media messages circulated in connection with the incident as well as other aspects of the case.
