Security Alert in Mumbai: Two Detained at Ambani Cultural Centre Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit

In a major security incident, law enforcement authorities detained two suspicious individuals at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, shortly before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled arrival.According to official details, one of the suspects claimed to be an official representing the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). During routine security clearance checks, security personnel discovered a counterfeit PMO identification card in his possession. Prompted by the fake documentation, Mumbai Police immediately intervened and took both men into custody. A firearm was also recovered from an accompanying individual who was acting as his bodyguard.The Crime Branch has taken over the investigation to determine the motive behind the suspects attempting to access the high-security venue with forged credentials and a firearm.The security intervention took place ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s arrival in Mumbai to inaugurate the seventh edition of the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2026, scheduled for around 5:45 PM. The four-day international event is hosted in Mumbai from September 8 to September 11.
