Moga Police Bust Heroin Supply Operation, Three Arrested With 12 Kg Consignment

Moga district police have claimed a major breakthrough in their ongoing campaign against drug trafficking after arresting three alleged smugglers and recovering 12 kg of heroin from their possession.
According to police, the action was carried out by the Counter Intelligence Cell under the supervision of DSP (D) Jatinder Singh. CIA staff in-charge Inspector Daljit Singh Brar led the operation, during which the suspects were intercepted in the jurisdiction of Ajitwal police station.
Police said a special checking operation was being conducted when a white Swift car without a registration number was searched. The search allegedly led to the recovery of 12 kg of heroin from the vehicle.
The three occupants allegedly told the police that they had arrived to supply the consignment. Two of the arrested suspects are residents of Fazilka district, a border district, and police said they were involved in receiving heroin supplied from across the border and transporting it to different parts of Punjab.
The two suspects have been identified as Baljinder Singh and Saulav Singh. The third accused, Manpreet Singh, is a resident of Badhni Kalan in Moga district. According to the police, Manpreet Singh allegedly received the drug supply from the other two accused and further distributed it.
The police have registered a case against the three accused at Ajitwal police station. The accused have been taken on two days of police remand for questioning.
Police officials said further information about the alleged drug supply network is expected to emerge during interrogation. The investigation is continuing to establish the wider supply chain and other links connected with the case.
The district police said that, under the directions of the senior police leadership, the campaign against drug trafficking would be intensified further.
