CJP Protest: DU and JNU Issue Advisories Amid Jantar Mantar Demonstrations

Amid the ongoing protests in the national capital over the NEET paper leak, Delhi University (DU) has issued an advisory for students and faculty members, urging them to stay away from demonstrations being held at Jantar Mantar. The university stated that participation in such protests could lead to legal action. According to the advisory, involvement in protest activities may not only pose risks to the personal safety of students but could also have an impact on their academic records and future career prospects. The university has advised students to avoid gathering at the protest site and to remain focused on their academic responsibilities. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) also issued a public advisory through its official X (formerly Twitter) account. The university advised all members of its community to act responsibly and prioritize their personal safety. Referring to the Supreme Court's guidelines on public demonstrations, JNU requested students and staff to refrain from attending or visiting gatherings being held at or near Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. In its advisory, JNU further urged members of the university community to use social media responsibly while upholding the values of academic responsibility and responsible citizenship. Several student organizations are actively participating in the ongoing protest, including the Students' Federation of India (SFI), All India Students' Association (AISA), All India Students' Federation (AISF), the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), and independent student groups from various Delhi University colleges.
