Residents Demand Action After Stray Dog Bites 15 People in Kapurthala Locality

A stray dog injured 15 people, including six children, in a locality near Markfed in Kapurthala, triggering panic among residents and renewed calls for action against the growing stray dog menace.
All those injured in the attack were taken to the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala by their family members, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
According to Dr. Jashan, who was on duty in the emergency ward of the Civil Hospital, the stray dog attacked 15 people in neighbourhoods located near the Markfed area. Among the injured were Reena Devi, wife of Ram Bau Nath, Varunjot (3), Satyam (4), Abhinoor Singh (8), Rehu Kumari (3), and Monu Kumar (9).
Several other residents were also injured in the incident. The injured included Rajinder Kaur, Sanjeev Kumar, Dharminder Kumar, Arvinder Matho, Rajinder Kaur, wife of Balwinder Singh, Rajinder Kaur, wife of Harjinder Singh, Rajwinder Kaur and Mutti Devi.
Hospital authorities said the victims received medical attention after being admitted to the healthcare facility. No information was immediately available regarding the severity of their injuries.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents, who have urged the administration to take immediate measures to address the issue of stray dogs roaming in the city. Residents said prompt action is necessary to prevent similar incidents in the future and to avoid any major loss of life.
The attack has once again highlighted public safety concerns linked to stray animals in urban areas, with residents seeking a long-term solution to the problem.
