Concerns Over Extortion Cases Prompt Canadian MP to Demand Action Against Gang Affiliates

Concerns over shootings, extortion cases and violent crime allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have intensified in Canada, with a Conservative Member of Parliament calling for stricter action against individuals connected to the group.
Brad Vis, the Conservative MP representing the Mission-Matsqui-Abbotsford constituency in British Columbia, has urged Canadian authorities to deport people on temporary visas who are allegedly associated with the Bishnoi gang. He argued that individuals linked to the network and those misusing Canada's immigration and student visa systems are contributing to violent crime and extortion-related activities in the country.
According to Vis, the gang has for years exploited Canada's immigration system while allegedly intimidating business owners and spreading fear through extortion demands. He claimed that pressure from the Conservative Party played a role in prompting the federal government to designate the group as an extremist organization and said additional measures are now required to address the issue.
The lawmaker expressed concern over what he described as the misuse of immigration and student visa pathways by individuals connected to organized criminal activity. He stated that stronger enforcement efforts are needed to curb such activities and protect communities affected by crime.
Appeal to Federal Government
Vis called on Canada's Liberal government to immediately deport any alleged gang members currently residing in the country on temporary visas. He said that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) should work closely with the federal government to identify such individuals and remove them from Canada.
Emphasizing that the matter goes beyond political differences, the MP described it as an issue directly related to public safety and the protection of Canadian citizens.
The remarks come amid growing concern over incidents of shootings, extortion attempts and other criminal activities allegedly connected to networks associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
