Tragic Phillaur Road Accident: Husband, Wife and 6-Year-Old Daughter Killed

A devastating road accident in Phillaur turned a family’s return journey into a tragedy on Friday morning. A couple and their young daughter, who were returning after paying obeisance at a religious shrine, were hit by a car while travelling on an Activa. The collision was so severe that the scooter was badly damaged. Following the accident, the injured victims were immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Phillaur. Doctors declared the mother and daughter dead on arrival. Vinay Kumar, whose condition was critical, was referred for further treatment, but he also died during treatment. Other people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment. According to the information available, the family had travelled with other relatives on Activas and motorcycles to visit Baba Murad Shah Dargah in Nakodar. The accident occurred while they were returning, between Haripur and Pratap Pura. The victims were identified as Vinay Kumar, 38, a resident of Bhamian village in Ludhiana, his wife Suman, 35, and their approximately six-year-old daughter Kavisha. All three were seriously injured in the collision. They were brought to the emergency department of SDH Phillaur, where doctors declared Suman and Kavisha dead. According to Dr Tarun, the mother and daughter had already stopped breathing and their hearts had stopped beating before they reached the hospital. Vinay Kumar was referred for further medical treatment due to his critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries. Car driver Rupinder Singh was also injured in the accident. He stated that he was travelling from Ludhiana towards Nurmahal when his car suddenly collided with the Activa. Phillaur police have started an investigation into the accident. Officials are examining all aspects of the collision between the car and the Activa. Investigating officer Umesh Kumar said further legal action would be taken on the basis of the injured car driver's statement and the facts emerging during the investigation.
