Two Killed in Firing Between Rival Groups Over Pigeon Flying Dispute in Punjab
A dispute over pigeon flying escalated into a violent clash between two groups in a village of Punjab’s Ferozepur district, leaving two people dead. The incident took place in village Kadma, which falls under the jurisdiction of Lakho Mamdot police station. According to initial information, the conflict began with a quarrel among children over pigeon flying, commonly known as kabootarbazi. The argument reportedly led to a physical altercation among the children, which later intensified as elders from both sides became involved in the dispute. As tensions rose between the two groups, the confrontation turned violent and gunfire was reportedly exchanged. During the firing, a man identified as Khlara, son of Lal Kadma Veer, sustained serious injuries. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Ferozepur for treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead during treatment. Reports also indicate that another person from the opposing group, who was injured during the clash, has also died. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances that led to the deadly confrontation.
