Major Action in Bank Scam: Haryana Government Suspends Senior IAS Officials

The Haryana government has taken strict action in connection with a major bank fraud case by suspending two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with immediate effect. Among those suspended is Ram Kumar Singh, who was serving as Special Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, as well as Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority. The suspension order has been enforced with immediate effect. During the suspension period, Ram Kumar Singh (IAS, HY 2012) will have his headquarters at the office of the Chief Secretary, Haryana Government, in the Services-I branch. In a similar action, the government has also suspended Pradeep Kumar, who was serving as Director of State Transport and Special Secretary, Transport. He too will remain attached to the Chief Secretary’s office in Chandigarh during the suspension period. According to official sources, both suspensions are linked to their alleged involvement in a bank fraud case concerning IDFC First Bank and AU Small Finance Bank. The scam is reported to be worth approximately ₹590 crore.
