Punjab Government Fulfills Poll Promise with Monthly Financial Aid for Women

Marking International Women's Day, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Government of Punjab has announced the ‘Mukhy Mantri Mawa Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’, fulfilling a key election promise aimed at financially supporting women across the state. Ludhiana Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur congratulated residents following the announcement in the state budget. Under the scheme, women belonging to Scheduled Castes will receive ₹1,500 per month, while women from other categories will receive ₹1,000 per month. Mayor Inderjit Kaur stated that under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, and Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, the party has fulfilled a major electoral promise made to women in the state. The announcement sparked celebrations among residents in Ludhiana. Mayor Inderjit Kaur participated in the festivities where people welcomed the decision with flower showers and danced to the beat of drums. According to officials, nearly 97 percent of adult women in Punjab will be eligible to benefit from the scheme. Mayor Inderjit Kaur further emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party government has delivered on its commitments to the people of Punjab and will continue working for the welfare and empowerment of society. Under the initiative, the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will transfer ₹1,000 per month directly to the bank accounts of all adult women, while women belonging to Scheduled Castes will receive ₹1,500 per month. The mayor noted that the historic initiative aims to promote financial independence among women, improve health and nutrition standards, and support girls in continuing their education and achieving their aspirations. She also extended greetings to women on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
