Counter Intelligence Amritsar Seizes 5.5 Kg Heroin and Four Pistols

In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police and Counter Intelligence Amritsar uncovered a smuggling module involved in the trafficking of narcotics and illegal weapons and ammunition. Two accused have been arrested in connection with the case. During the operation, police recovered 5.5 kilograms of heroin, four pistols and 10 rounds of ammunition from the arrested individuals. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were allegedly in contact with a cross-border smuggler. According to officials, the consignment of illegal weapons and ammunition had been supplied to them for further distribution within Punjab. A case has been registered at SSOC Amritsar Police Station. Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to trace both the backward and forward linkages of the network and to identify other associates connected to the smuggling module. The information was shared by Gaurav Yadav, who said that Punjab Police remains firmly committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drugs, illegal weapons and organized crime.
