A delegation of the Baba Vishwakarma International Foundation, led by its President Ranjit Singh Mathadu, met R. P. Sharma, National Chief Advisor of the MSMI PCI Advisory Committee and former member of the Delhi Cooperative Development Board, to discuss key issues concerning the industrial sector. The delegation included General Secretary Resham Singh Saggu, Publicity Secretary Aman Kalsi, along with members Nipun Kumar and Sahil Jassal. During the meeting, representatives highlighted the challenges currently faced by industries, particularly in Ludhiana, which is recognized as a major global commercial hub with a strong industrial base. The delegation emphasized that trade plays a vital role in strengthening the economy and that both small and large businesses must thrive for sustained economic growth. They also pointed out that industries in the region suffered financial losses due to recent floods in the state. In this regard, they urged the early release of pending GST refunds to help businesses recover and expand operations. Speaking on the occasion, Resham Singh Saggu stated that efforts are being made to enroll members from various sectors of small industries. This initiative aims to ensure that youth can benefit from employment schemes introduced by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann. Responding to the concerns, R.P. Sharma assured the delegation that industrial issues would be addressed on a priority basis. He noted that the progress of any state or nation depends on providing modern facilities to industries, which in turn strengthens the economy and improves trade relations with neighboring regions. Sharma further stressed the importance of promoting new projects such as dairy farming, food processing, and initiatives under MSME schemes to create employment opportunities. He encouraged industry stakeholders to actively engage youth in these sectors so they do not have to seek employment abroad. He also indicated his plans to visit Ludhiana in the near future and emphasized the need to spread awareness about government schemes among youth, enabling the establishment of new industries and boosting local employment.
