Constable Attacked with Rods and Sticks in Amritsar, Dies on Way to Hospita
A shocking incident has been reported from Jagdev Kalan village in Amritsar, where a police constable was allegedly beaten to death following a violent attack. The deceased was currently serving as a security guard. The victim has been identified as Jagjit Singh, a resident of Jagdev Kalan village. According to reports, he was posted as a security guard for a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Gurdaspur. Media reports suggest that the incident was linked to a family dispute. On Friday evening, when Jagjit Singh returned home after completing his duty, a group of individuals allegedly attacked him with iron rods and sticks. During the assault, the constable sustained a severe head injury and lost consciousness. His family members rushed him to the hospital for treatment, but he died on the way. Doctors indicated that the serious head injury was the main cause of his death. The victim’s wife has alleged that the accused attacked him without provocation due to an ongoing domestic dispute. She also claimed that other members of the family were assaulted during the attack. Station House Officer (SHO) Harsimrat Kaur confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. Police have arrested five accused so far, while raids are being conducted to apprehend the remaining suspects. Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and the exact motive behind the murder will be determined soon.
