Punjab CM Declares Financial Assistance for Families of Martyred Police Personnel

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced financial assistance for the families of police personnel who were killed in Gurdaspur recently. The announcement was made through a post shared by the Chief Minister on social media. Paying tribute to the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the deceased officers, ASI Gurnam Singh and PHG Ashok Kumar, the Chief Minister said that both laid down their lives while performing their duty. He described their sacrifice as a matter of pride and honour for the state. As part of the relief measures, the Punjab government will provide an ex-gratia amount of ₹1 crore each to the families of the deceased. In addition, HDFC Bank will extend an extra insurance cover of ₹1 crore each to the affected families. Reaffirming the government’s support, the Chief Minister stated that the Punjab government stands firmly with the families of the martyrs. He added that the courage and sacrifice of these personnel serve as an inspiration for everyone to perform their duties with dedication and bravery.
