Shiromani Akali Dal (Punr Sarjit) is set to face a significant setback in Mohali district as its prominent leader and SGPC member, Advocate Paramjit Kaur Landran, is returning to the Shiromani Akali Dal. According to information, Paramjit Kaur Landran will formally rejoin the party at its Chandigarh office under the leadership of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Her return has been facilitated by senior party leaders, including former MLA Narendra Kumar Sharma, district president Parvinder Singh Sohana, Sadhu Singh Khalor, and other party members. Party leaders believe that her rejoining will strengthen the Shiromani Akali Dal’s position in Mohali district, particularly in rural areas, where she holds considerable influence. She is also regarded as a leader with a clean and non-controversial image. Speaking about her return, Paramjit Kaur Landran stated that she has always remained committed to Akali ideology. She acknowledged that differences may arise at times, but reaffirmed that her core beliefs align with the party and that she will continue to work for it in the future. It is noteworthy that Paramjit Kaur Landran previously served as the Chairperson of the Punjab State Women Commission during the Akali Dal government. She has also been a long-time member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). She is considered to have been closely associated with Bibi Jagir Kaur and had joined Akali Dal (Punr Sarjit) under her leadership. Sources indicate that she had remained inactive and away from active politics for a considerable period before deciding to return to the Shiromani Akali Dal.
