Punjab Vigilance Reacts After CBI Action at Chandigarh Headquarters

A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation conducted a raid at the Punjab Vigilance Headquarters in Chandigarh on Tuesday. Following the development, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau released an official statement regarding the matter. Punjab Vigilance official Sharad Satya Chauhan stated that a private individual has been arrested in connection with the case and that the investigation is currently being carried out by the CBI. He clarified that the Punjab Vigilance Bureau will fully cooperate with the central agency during the course of the investigation. According to the bureau’s spokesperson, the CBI has detained a private person and inquiries related to the matter are ongoing. The spokesperson further said that if the name of any officer from the Vigilance Bureau emerges during the investigation, the department will extend complete support to the CBI and assist in all legal proceedings. At present, the investigation in the matter is continuing.
