Tragedy Abroad: 29-Year-Old Punjabi Youth Dies in US Due to Heart Attack

A tragic incident has emerged from Punjab, where a young man who had moved abroad in search of better livelihood opportunities has died of a heart attack in the United States. The news of his death has plunged his family into deep grief and cast a shadow of mourning over his native village. According to available information, 29-year-old Mahik Singh, a resident of village Ghangas near Khanna, had moved to Canada on April 1, 2024, in pursuit of a brighter future. He later relocated to the United States, where he was working at a store in Indiana. The deceased’s father stated that he last spoke to his son on April 15. At the time, Mahik Singh was in good health and had enquired about the well-being of the family. However, on the morning of April 22, the family received a phone call informing them of his death. It has been reported that he died due to a heart attack. Due to the family’s weak financial condition, they are unable to bear the expenses required to bring his mortal remains back to India. The family has expressed their wish to perform his last rites in their native village. They have appealed to both the Punjab government and the Central government for financial assistance.
