Tension gripped the Anand Nagar area of Khanna after torn pages of Gutka Sahib were found scattered across the streets, triggering widespread anger and concern among local residents. According to information, the incident took place yesterday afternoon, but residents became aware of it only later in the evening. Following this, the matter was promptly reported to the local police. Taking the situation seriously, a police team led by DSP Tarlochan Singh and DSP Vinod Kumar initiated an investigation. During the examination of CCTV footage from the area, an 11–12-year-old migrant boy was seen holding a Gutka Sahib and tearing its pages before scattering them on the road. It was also revealed that two other children were present with him at the time. Local leaders, including Congress councillor Neenu, Gurdwara committee president Amrik Singh, Navtej Singh Khattara, Akali leader Yadvinder Singh Yadu, and Aam Aadmi Party leader Rajinder Singh Jeet, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. They have collectively demanded a high-level investigation into the matter. The leaders also raised suspicion that the involvement of children in tearing newly purchased Gutka Sahib pages could indicate the role of mischief-makers, and urged authorities to probe this angle thoroughly. Meanwhile, the local police have taken three children living in nearby huts into custody and are currently questioning them as part of the ongoing investigation.
