Gold and Silver Prices Surge Again on February 24
Prices of gold and silver witnessed another sharp rise on Monday, continuing the volatile trend in the bullion market this year. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold increased by ₹1,283 per 10 grams, reaching ₹1,59,503. In the previous trading session, gold was priced at ₹1,58,220 per 10 grams. Notably, gold prices have surged by around ₹5,000 over the past two trading days. Silver prices also recorded a significant increase. The rate of one kilogram of silver rose by ₹2,460 to ₹2,66,535, compared to ₹2,64,075 per kilogram in the previous session. Silver had already gained ₹13,000 a day earlier, taking its total rise over two days to more than ₹16,000. So far in 2026, both precious metals have shown considerable fluctuations. Gold prices have increased by approximately ₹26,000, while silver has surged by about ₹36,000 during the year. Earlier this year, on January 29, both metals touched their peak levels, with gold reaching ₹1.76 lakh and silver climbing to ₹3.86 lakh.
