PM Narendra Modi to Visit Punjab on July 17, Inaugurate Four Railway Stations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Punjab on July 17, where he will inaugurate the Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station. During his visit, the Prime Minister is expected to remain at the station for approximately 80 minutes. As part of the programme, PM Modi will also virtually inaugurate 75 railway stations developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Among them are three additional railway stations in Punjab — SAS Nagar (Mohali), Sri Muktsar Sahib, and Sri Anandpur Sahib. He will also flag off the Sant Ravidas Train connecting Amritsar and Varanasi. According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will arrive directly at Adampur Airport before travelling by helicopter to the PAP Helipad, where he is expected to land at 3:40 pm. From there, he will proceed to Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station, with his arrival scheduled for 3:55 pm. Officials have indicated that the Prime Minister may make special announcements during his address. Preparations for the visit are underway, with various government departments coordinating arrangements. Security agencies, including the Special Protection Group (SPG) and other officials, have already inspected the railway station as part of the security review. As part of the security protocol, rail traffic will be temporarily regulated before and after the Prime Minister's arrival at the station for specific operational requirements. Some trains may be halted at their previous stations, while passengers present at the station may face restrictions on movement in designated areas during the visit.
