Calgary Family Demands Justice After Daughter Seriously Injured in UK Assault
A Calgary family is calling for justice after their 22-year-old daughter, Keeley Hedarsha, was seriously injured in a violent incident in the United Kingdom. Keeley, who resides in Berwick, England with her extended family, was reportedly attacked outside a local pub on February 21. According to the family, Keeley was not involved in the altercation between two individuals. She was merely present when a young woman pushed her to the ground. The impact caused Keeley’s head to strike the curb, resulting in two skull fractures and internal brain bleeding. Keeley’s father, Lee Hedarsha, who immigrated from England to Canada 12 years ago, expressed deep concern over the incident. He said the family had moved to Canada to escape the escalating alcohol-related violence prevalent in parts of the UK, where binge drinking frequently leads to aggressive confrontations. “This was our biggest fear,” he said, “we left for safety, and yet something like this still happened.” Local authorities have arrested one woman and two men in connection with the assault, and an investigation is ongoing. The family remains hopeful that the police will ensure justice is served.
