AAP MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina Accused of Slapping Truck Driver in Ludhiana; Video Goes Viral
A political controversy has erupted in Punjab after Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA representing the Ludhiana South constituency, was accused of physically confronting and slapping a truck driver on Daba Road in Ludhiana. Video footage of the incident has circulated widely across social media platforms. Following the altercation, the driver formally lodged a complaint against the legislator at the Daba police station. According to reported details, the incident took place on Monday afternoon along Daba Road. A commercial truck was moving along the route with the MLA's vehicle trailing behind. Reports state that the MLA's driver repeatedly sounded the horn and hooter to request space to pass, but the truck failed to yield. Shortly after, the legislator stepped out of her vehicle accompanied by her armed security personnel and approached the truck. Allegations state that during this encounter, the MLA slapped the driver. The truck driver stated that he was unaware the legislator's vehicle was behind him. He alleged that upon exiting her car, the MLA verbally threatened him before physically striking him. Later in the evening, the driver and several colleagues staged a protest demonstration demanding action against the lawmaker. A formal complaint was subsequently filed at Daba police station, where law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation to verify the facts and evaluate claims from both sides.
