Kangana Ranaut Hits Back at Trolls, Says ‘Don’t Mislead Young People’

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has strongly responded to social media users who have been targeting her by sharing clips from her films. The Mandi MP from Himachal Pradesh alleged that such actions are misleading the country's youth and creating confusion by blurring the distinction between fictional performances and real-life behaviour. Kangana Ranaut has remained at the centre of public discussion in recent days following her controversial remarks about young people who participated in protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). Referring to Generation Z (Gen Z) as "Generation Gutter," she had described videos from the protests as offensive. Following those remarks, several social media users began sharing clips from her older films and public appearances to criticise her. Responding to the criticism, Kangana shared a video on her Instagram Story and defended her position. She wrote that the clips being circulated were taken from films in which she was paid crores of rupees to perform as an actor. She added that videos from high-profile show business events, where she is surrounded by bouncers, event planners and security personnel, should not be compared with real-life conduct. Kangana further stated that such clips were being used to influence minors and young people into believing that similar behaviour was acceptable on the streets, at school events or in clubs. Stressing the difference between cinema and reality, she said people should stop misleading the youth because acting in films and everyday life are not the same. Issuing a warning to those sharing such content, Kangana wrote, "Stop misleading young people. These are not the same things. Today you are misleading other people's children; tomorrow the same could happen to your own children." Earlier, Kangana had also commented on videos from the protests held at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, describing them as a display of "filth and ugliness." She had written that she had never witnessed so much ugliness in one place. Referring to the Gen Z protest reels, she said they made her feel sick and criticised the language used in the videos as highly shameful. She also questioned who was raising and bringing up such individuals.
