India’s star men’s doubles badminton duo, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, clinched the China Masters Super 750 title on Monday by defeating the Chinese pair of He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu in a hard-fought three-game final in Shenzhen. Playing in their third final at the tournament, the world No. 5 Indian pair staged a remarkable comeback after dropping the opening game, securing a 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 victory. The thriller lasted one hour and 10 minutes. Satwik and Chirag had previously finished as runners-up at the tournament in 2023 and 2025, and reached the semi-finals in 2024. The victory marks the 10th BWF World Tour career title for the pair, who bounce back after missing out on a third BWF World Championship medal following a quarter-final exit in New Delhi last month. The win represents their second Super 750 title of the year and their fourth overall title of the season. With this triumph, the reigning Asian Games men's doubles champions became the first Indians to win the tournament since its inception in 2005. The China Masters marked the duo's third BWF World Tour final appearance in 2026, following a runner-up finish at the Thailand Open in May and a title victory at the Singapore Open later that month.
