He emphasized that the Punjab Police is not only safeguarding the state but also serving the entire nation by firmly guarding the International Border. Addressing a Passing Out Parade at the PAP Ground in Jalandhar, the Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s dual focus on employment generation and strengthening law and order. A total of 2,577 newly trained personnel were formally inducted into the police force during the ceremony.

Describing the recruitment drive as part of the AAP government’s employment push, the Chief Minister said that more than 12,010 police personnel have been recruited since March 2022. He added that ₹1,100 crore has been allocated to modernize the force, with emphasis on scientific policing methods. Measures such as the integration of Artificial Intelligence, establishment of specialized technical units, and strengthening of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force are being implemented to combat cybercrime, terrorism, and drug trafficking. In a post shared on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said it was an honor to attend the parade and congratulated the new recruits. He reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring peace and security in Punjab through continuous recruitment and technological advancement. Speaking at the event, Mann said that the modernization of the police force has been a priority since he assumed office. He noted that the police have been equipped with modern tools and techniques to effectively tackle emerging challenges and uphold the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the country.

Highlighting the unique challenges faced by Punjab, he said the police force has been performing its duties with dedication despite constant external threats. He expressed satisfaction over attending the ceremony at the Punjab Armed Police campus and noted that the parade marked the successful completion of basic training for the recruits, who will now be deployed across various districts. The Chief Minister also detailed the training background of the recruits, stating that they were trained at institutions including the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy in Phillaur, the Police Recruit Training Centre in Jahan Khelan (Hoshiarpur), and the In-Service Training Centre in Kapurthala. Providing further details, Mann said that since March 2022, the government has issued appointment letters to over 12,010 personnel, including 1,062 Sub-Inspectors, 450 Head Constables, 10,098 Constables, and 400 civilian staff. He added that recruitment has been an ongoing process, with more hiring planned in the coming months. On technological advancement, the Chief Minister said Punjab has taken the lead in recruiting technically skilled personnel, including experts in IT, forensics, and human resource management. These efforts aim to strengthen the Technical Services Wing to deal with cybercrime, financial fraud, gang activity, terrorism, and narcotics-related offenses. He further highlighted the role of the Bureau of Investigation, which has inducted legal, forensic, IT, and financial experts who are now serving across various police units. Discussing road safety initiatives, Mann said the Sadak Surakhya Force has been established to provide immediate assistance to accident victims. Equipped with modern vehicles and technology, the force has saved 46,399 lives so far. He added that the initiative has received global recognition, with a response time of 6 minutes and 20 seconds and a significant reduction in accident-related fatalities. Referring to the ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign launched in March 2025, the Chief Minister said that over 50,238 arrests and 35,133 FIRs have been registered. Large quantities of drugs, including 2,230 kg of heroin, 668 kg of opium, and 29 tonnes of poppy husk, have been seized. The Chief Minister also spoke about rehabilitation efforts, stating that de-addiction centers are offering free counseling and medicines, alongside awareness campaigns in educational institutions and public spaces. Paying tribute to the legacy of the police force, Mann said that the Punjab Police has consistently safeguarded national unity and maintained peace in the border state through dedication and sacrifice. He warned that hostile elements from neighboring countries are attempting to mislead the youth and destabilize the state, but assured that such attempts will not succeed.

He expressed confidence that the police force will continue to respond firmly to any threats. Referring to recent incidents, the Chief Minister said that those responsible for the killing of two police personnel have been arrested, adding that such acts aimed at demoralizing the force will not be tolerated. Highlighting the state’s training infrastructure, Mann said Punjab has developed advanced police training centers that are among the best in the country, attracting interest from other states and even foreign forces.
