Seven Identified as Police Probe Firing Incident at Barwala Village Sarpanch’s Home
Police have registered a case against around 10 individuals in connection with an incident in which gunshots were allegedly fired at the residence of village sarpanch Amarjeet Singh in Barwala village under the jurisdiction of Sadar Patti police station. The incident took place on Friday night. According to the police, seven of the accused have been identified, while three others remain unidentified. Those identified include Sukhwinder Singh, Karamjit Singh, Prabhjit Singh, Chamkaur Singh, Harmandeep Singh, Sukhwinder Singh alias Gachchu, and Gurlal Singh, all residents of Barwala village. Sarpanch Amarjeet Singh stated that the accused had been issuing threats to him and his son, Chhatrapal Singh. They allegedly warned that they would not allow the organisation of a panchayat fair and a kabaddi tournament in the village. He further alleged that the firing at his residence on Friday night was carried out in connection with these threats. Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the matter.
