Vijay Government Inducts 23 Ministers in Tamil Nadu Cabinet Expansion

The cabinet of the government led by Vijay in Tamil Nadu was expanded on Thursday, with 23 ministers taking the oath of office. The allocation of portfolios among the newly inducted ministers is expected to be announced shortly. The swearing-in ceremony was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday. A total of 21 ministers from TVK and two ministers from the Indian National Congress took the oath during the ceremony. The cabinet expansion is being seen as politically significant, as the Congress has become part of the Tamil Nadu government after a gap of 59 years. Two Congress leaders have been included in Vijay’s council of ministers as part of the new arrangement. Meanwhile, Indian Union Muslim League and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi will extend outside support to the government. The government is expected to announce the distribution of departments among the ministers in the coming days.
