Punjab Cabinet to Hold Key Meeting Today Under CM Bhagwant Mann
The Punjab Government has convened a special meeting of the Council of Ministers (Cabinet) on Tuesday, July 21. According to official information, the meeting will be held at 12:00 noon at the official residence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in Chandigarh. During the meeting, the Chief Minister and Cabinet ministers are expected to deliberate on several important issues concerning the state, including development projects and administrative policies. Several key proposals and policy decisions are also likely to be placed before the Cabinet for approval. Sources indicate that the meeting may also discuss matters related to new recruitment and initiatives aimed at providing relief to government employees and the general public. There is also speculation that the government could move forward with a number of public welfare schemes ahead of the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. It is worth noting that during the May 8 Cabinet meeting, the Punjab Government announced relief measures for 65,000 temporary employees. In the subsequent Cabinet meeting, the government approved a proposal to curb fee hikes in private schools. It was also decided that schools charging more than a 5 per cent increase in fees would be required to refund the excess amount collected from students. The decisions taken at Tuesday's Cabinet meeting are expected to have a significant impact on the state's governance, development agenda, and public welfare initiatives.
