Bringing global recognition to Punjab, fitness icon Kuwar Amritbir Singh has been honoured with a prestigious royal title by Indonesia’s royal family. Widely known across India for his exceptional fitness, discipline, and dedication to traditional Indian workout methods, Amritbir received the honour during a historic ceremony. The royal family praised his cultural influence and acknowledged his role as a global ambassador who inspires young people. Amritbir’s journey from the streets of his village to the royal court of Indonesia represents more than a personal achievement. It also highlights the strength of Punjabi values and cultural heritage on the international stage. Images from the ceremony have gone viral on social media, creating a sense of pride and celebration across Punjab. At just 20 years of age, Kuwar Amritbir Singh from Gurdaspur has built an impressive identity beyond his six-pack physique and athletic abilities. He holds a Guinness World Record for performing the highest number of fingertip clap push-ups in one minute. Alongside this achievement, he is also recognized as a fitness mentor, motivational speaker, and social media influencer. Before earning the Guinness World Record in July 2022, he had made several attempts to set other records. A student of Khalsa College, Amritsar, Amritbir believes that achieving physical fitness and building a strong body does not require expensive gym memberships or protein supplements. He began his fitness journey at the age of 17 with the determination to follow a different path from conventional training methods. According to Amritbir, he started exercising in a cattle shed at his home in Umarwala village. He follows a traditional diet consisting of desi ghee, butter, and milk. To complete his workouts, he used everyday items such as bricks, sandbags, and plastic sacks filled with cement instead of modern gym equipment. However, Amritbir says his ambitions go beyond winning awards and setting records. He aims to contribute positively to society and inspire the younger generation. With nearly 230,000 followers on Instagram, he has launched a unique initiative offering diet and fitness guidance for just ₹5. He says his ultimate mission is not merely to break records but to transform the image of Punjab’s youth. Through social media, he continues to encourage young people to stay away from drug abuse and adopt a healthy lifestyle through natural fitness practices. His journey stands as an inspiring example that determination, dedication, and hard work can lead to global success even without access to expensive resources.
