Red Fort Blast: UN Report Claims Al-Qaeda-Linked AQIS Was Involved

A United Nations Security Council (UNSC) report has claimed that an organisation linked to Al-Qaeda was involved in the blast near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10, 2025. The 38th UNSC report states that Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) was responsible for the blast. The explosion, which took place near the Red Fort on the evening of November 10, 2025, killed 11 people and left several others injured. According to the report, AQIS carried out the attack and has now been operating through smaller cells. It also states that the organisation has established its logistics and financial networks. The latest claim differs from the findings mentioned in the previous 37th UNSC report. In that report, a member state had attributed the attack to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). As a result, two consecutive UNSC reports have named two different terrorist organisations in connection with the Red Fort blast. However, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) chargesheet has claimed that the accused in the case were linked to AQIS. The differing references in the UNSC reports, along with the NIA's claims regarding the accused, have added another dimension to the investigation into the Red Fort blast.
