Five Rounds Fired at Tiger Shroff’s Vehicle; Mumbai Crime Branch Investigates

19 Oct, 2026 12:40 PM

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff at his residence late Sunday night after a firing incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Shinde expressed concern over the attack and assured the actor and his family of full government support and security.

Shroff narrowly escaped the shooting, which took place on Sunday evening as he was leaving a football club in Mumbai. The actor’s driver and another person were injured in the incident.

Photographs from the meeting showed bandages on Shroff’s shoulder, chest and right arm as he spoke with Shinde. The actor’s mother, Ayesha Shroff, was also present.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the actor, Shinde strongly condemned the firing. He said Shroff had sustained injuries from gunpowder and glass fragments on his hand.

Shinde said five rounds had been fired and that the actor had escaped serious harm. He confirmed that Shroff’s driver was injured and described the incident as highly condemnable.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the actor and his mother were frightened by the attack. He assured them that the state government would take all necessary measures to ensure their safety.

Shinde also said threats against public figures would not be tolerated. Referring to Mumbai’s history of gang violence, he said the authorities would act firmly against attempts to intimidate people and would work to eliminate such criminal activity.

Shooting Took Place Outside Football Club

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg, the firing occurred at around 7 pm on Sunday, when Shroff was leaving a football club in Mumbai.

Unidentified persons allegedly opened indiscriminate fire, narrowly missing the actor. Two people, including his driver, were injured. The driver was reportedly hit by bullets, while Shroff escaped being shot.

Three Unidentified Persons Booked

Mumbai Police have registered a case of attempted murder against three unidentified persons in connection with the shooting. Officials confirmed the development on Monday.

The case was initially registered by Juhu Police and has now been transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch for investigation, given the seriousness of the incident.

An official said the FIR had been registered under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (attempt to murder), Section 3(5) (acts committed with a common intention), and relevant provisions of the Arms Act.

Police Examine Possible Gang Links

The Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating all aspects of the case, including possible links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, officials said.

Identifying and tracking down the three unidentified attackers remains a key challenge for investigators. The probe is ongoing.
