President Droupadi Murmu Makes History with Co-Pilot Flight in ‘Prachand’ Helicopter

President Droupadi Murmu created history on Friday by flying as a co-pilot in the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter ‘Prachand’ in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. With this achievement, she became the first President of India to undertake a flight in this advanced combat helicopter. The flight took place near the India-Pakistan border, adding strategic significance to the event. The ‘Prachand’ helicopter is an indigenously developed light combat aircraft, symbolizing India’s growing strength in defense manufacturing. Prior to the flight, the pilot briefed the President about the helicopter’s technical features and safety protocols. President Murmu was seen wearing a green military uniform along with a helmet during the occasion. Before take-off, she acknowledged those present by waving from the cockpit, expressing her gratitude. The event marked a significant milestone and highlighted the capabilities of India’s indigenous defense technology.
