CM Mann to Offer Thanks at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib After Passage of Respect Bill
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will launch the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ today from Sri Anandpur Sahib. The initiative is being undertaken to express gratitude following the enactment of the “Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Satkar Amendment Bill 2026.” The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa, where he will pay obeisance and offer thanks to the Guru. After this, he will address devotees at Ravidass Chowk and formally commence the ‘Shukrana Yatra’. Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers in the thanksgiving event. He stated that the yatra is being initiated as a mark of gratitude and called upon people to join the gathering in significant numbers. According to officials, the Chief Minister will first bow at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and then interact with the congregation, highlighting the significance of the yatra. The event marks the government’s acknowledgment following the passage of the “Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Satkar Amendment Bill 2026,” which aims to reinforce respect for the holy scripture.
