A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited the residence of Gursimran Singh Mand on Pakhowal Road in Ludhiana on Wednesday and questioned him for nearly one and a half hours as part of an ongoing inquiry. According to Mand, he received a phone call from the NIA team earlier in the afternoon informing him that officials would be visiting his home. Shortly afterward, the officers arrived and conducted a detailed round of questioning regarding the matter under investigation. Mand stated that he had received threatening calls on his mobile phone on October 7, 8, and 9 in 2025. The caller allegedly claimed to be an associate of Pakistan-based gangster Shehzad Bhatti. During the calls, the individual reportedly threatened to blow up the Ram Mandir and carry out attacks on ancient temples in Jalandhar. Mand further said the caller also threatened to throw a hand grenade at his residence. According to him, such threats continued until October 25. He added that the NIA team collected all available evidence and data related to the accused during the visit. Officials also assured him that action would be taken to dismantle the network behind these threats. The agency is currently investigating the suspects’ links and associates as part of the probe.
