DMRC Shuts New Delhi Metro Station Until Further Orders Amid Ongoing Protests

24 Jul, 2026 03:39 PM

The agitation by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over the NEET paper leak issue continues to affect normal life in the national capital. In view of the ongoing protests, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced another major decision by closing the New Delhi Metro Station until further orders. According to the latest update, interchange services at New Delhi Metro Station have also been suspended, meaning passengers will not be able to switch between metro lines at the station until further notice. Earlier on Friday morning, reports confirmed that 17 metro stations across Delhi had been closed. With the closure of New Delhi Metro Station, the total number of closed metro stations has now increased to 18. As metro services remain disrupted for the third consecutive day, commuters are facing significant inconvenience. The closure of New Delhi Metro Station is expected to create additional difficulties for passengers travelling by train to states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, and others. The metro station is located within the New Delhi Railway Station complex, making it a key transit point for commuters from Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and surrounding areas who rely on the metro to reach the railway station and board long-distance trains.
