World No. 1 Jannik Sinner Defeats Casper Ruud to Claim Italian Open Title
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner won the Italian Open title on Sunday after defeating Norway’s Casper Ruud in the final in Rome. The 24-year-old secured a straight-sets victory with a score of 6-4, 6-4. With this win, Sinner completed the prestigious “Career Golden Masters” by winning all nine ATP Masters 1000 titles in tennis history. He has now become only the second player in the world to achieve this milestone. Before Sinner, the feat had been accomplished only by 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. Djokovic completed his first Golden Masters at the age of 31 after winning the Cincinnati Open in 2018. Sinner achieved the milestone at a much younger age, completing it at just 24 years old. By winning his sixth consecutive Masters title this season, the Italian star has further strengthened his dominance on the men’s tennis tour. The victory is being seen as another major achievement in Sinner’s rapidly growing career, while his consistent form has made him one of the strongest contenders for upcoming tournaments.
