Himachal Accident: Vehicle Plunges into Deep Gorge Near Bhantrehr Nala

A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday in the Sundernagar sub-division of Himachal Pradesh, where a car carrying schoolchildren fell into a deep gorge near Bhantrehr Nala on the Dahehar-Samlehu link road. Six people, including four children, a woman, and the driver, were seriously injured in the incident. All the injured were immediately rushed to AIIMS Bilaspur for treatment, where they are currently under medical care. According to reports, the victims were returning home after collecting their annual examination results from a private school in the Dahehar area. The accident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Bhantrehr Nala, causing the car to veer off the road and plunge into the gorge. Local residents, upon hearing the crash, quickly reached the spot and initiated rescue operations. With the help of villagers, all the injured were safely pulled out of the gorge and transported to the hospital by ambulance. The injured have been identified as 65-year-old driver Basant Ram, 25-year-old Vandana, and children Riyansh (8), Suprit (10), Arnav (8), and Rehana. All of them are residents of Bloh village under Nanwan post office in Ghumarwin tehsil of Bilaspur district. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the spot and assessed the situation. A case has been registered, and an investigation into the cause of the accident has been initiated. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, though the exact cause will be confirmed after the investigation is completed. Bharat Bhushan confirmed the incident and stated that the police are examining all aspects of the case and the cause of the accident will be determined soon.
